Dewitt, NY – On June 6, 2021, at approximately 6:20 p.m., State Police received a request to BOLO (be on the lookout) for a red Toyota Corolla that entered the Thruway at the Canastota exit.  It was reported that the vehicle was driving erratically after intentionally throwing a Twisted Tea can at another vehicle, causing damage.   Troopers spotted the Corolla traveling westbound on I-90 in the town of Dewitt and stopped it for a vehicle and traffic violation.   The driver, James Palmer, 31, of Lysander, NY, was found to be intoxicated. 

Palmer was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Syracuse, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.10%.  He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Mischief 4th degree; all Misdemeanors.

Palmer was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Dewitt Court on June 16, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
