Major James M. Hall
Troop A Commander

On November 16, 2020 at 12:04 A.M., Troopers out of SP Niagara arrested Brandon R. Steinman, 26 of Niagara Falls, NY for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st degree and other vehicle and traffic infractions.

On November 16, 2020, Troopers responded to a collision on the Niagara Scenic Parkway in the city of Niagara Falls. Further investigation revealed that a NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) dump truck was blocking the roadway with emergency lights activated due to flooding.  Steinman was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east bound and struck the NYS DOT dump truck while trying to pass. While interviewing Steinman, he had signs of impairment.  Steinman was placed under arrest after failing multiple SFSTs administered by a Drug Recognition Expert and transported to SP Niagara for processing.  Steinman refused to provide a breath/urine sample.

Steinman was issued traffic tickets returnable to the city of Niagara Falls court for a later date in January 2021.
