PRESS RELEASE
 
On October 17, 2020, subsequent to a traffic stop on State Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie at approximately 10:34 a.m., 19-year-old Ayub Y. Guled of Toronto, Canada was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a quantity of handguns, high capacity magazines, and ammunition. He also gave investigating troopers false information about his identity. He was charged with eight counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, eight counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, ten counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree,  Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree, and Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree. 
 
Guled was arraigned in the Oswegatchie Town Court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, or $200,000 bond. State Police were assisted by the United States Border Patrol.
