On April 2, 2020, at approximately 6:24 p.m. State Police responded to a report of a one-car crash on County Route 25 in the town of Malone.  An investigation revealed a 2019 GMC Sierra operated by 57-year-old Jephrey P. Doorey of Plattsburgh, was traveling south on County Route 25 when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the west shoulder of the roadway and struck a culvert. His vehicle became airborne, struck a ditch and landed back in the roadway in the northbound lane. Doorey was not injured. He was subsequently arrested for DWI. Doorey’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.16%. He was also found to have had a previous conviction in 2011 for DWI. Doorey was charged with Felony DWI and released on tickets to appear in the Malone Town Court.
