Two people have been arrested after a trooper stopped at a red light saw one man chasing another with a baseball bat. 

A trooper on patrol on January 26, 2021 in the village of Unadilla was stopped at the red light at the intersection of Clifton Street and State Route 7.  While waiting at the light he saw a man bleeding and that he was being chased by another man with a wooden baseball bat.  The suspect with the baseball bat ran to the Unadilla House after seeing the trooper. 

Sidney EMS was called to the scene and later transported the man that was being chased to Tri Town Hospital for non- life-threatening injuries.  He was found to be in possession of a syringe that had what he identified as drugs. After treatment for his injuries, the man identified as Justin J. Cirigliano, age 26 of Bainbridge, NY was issued an appearance ticket for the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.  He was scheduled to appear in the town of Unadilla court on February 1, 2021.

On January 28, 2021 New York State Police arrested Daniel J. Racquet, age 44 of Unadilla, NY for the felony of Assault in the second degree and the misdemeanor of Menacing in the second degree. He was located at an unrelated incident and hiding in a closet.  Racquet was transported to SP Sidney for processing then transported to Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing.
