PRESS RELEASE
 
**Correction** the vehicle was reported as being involved in a hit and run involving a serious injury in the village of Endicott when a trooper attempted to stop the vehicle.  
 
Original Release: 

On October 11, 2021, New York State Police at Endwell arrested Brandon W. Carlson, age 20 of Endwell, NY for the felonies of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the second degree, Criminal Mischief in the second degree, Reckless Endangerment in the first degree and Assault in the second degree.  

Shortly before 3:00 p.m., a trooper spotted Carlson in a truck that had been involved in a hit and run in the village of Endicott.   The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but Carlson failed to comply.  A short distance later, Carlson crashed into an uninvolved vehicle at the intersection of Country Club Road and Stark Avenue in the town of Union.  Carlson then fled on foot and was ultimately taken into custody by a trooper.  Carlson was transported to Wilson Hospital and has since been treated and released.  Carlson was processed then transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing. 

The driver of the vehicle that was struck by Carlson on Country Club Road is identified as Eileen M. Patch, age 90 of Endwell, NY.  She was transported to Wilson Hospital and is being treated for injuries sustained in the crash. 

The investigation is on-going.  The events leading up to the crash are being investigated by the Endicott Police Department.
