PRESS RELEASE

On November 28, 2020 at approximately 7:38 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Jose A. Izaguirre, age 23 of Clarence Center, NY for the felony of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the second degree.

Troopers on patrol on Old State Route 17 in the town of Hancock saw a vehicle make an illegal u-turn and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.  The driver failed to comply and got on State Highway 17 at exit 89 and continued westbound.

Troopers deployed a tire deflation device but the operator was able to evade the device.  The driver eventually stopped at exit 79 and was taken into custody.  He was identified as Jose Izaguirre.

Troopers also discovered that while Izaguirre was fleeing from troopers, he threw a bag out the window that contained over one pound of marihuana.  The bag was located by troopers on State Highway 17.

Izaguirre was virtually arraigned and released on his own recognizance.  His next court date was scheduled for the town of Hancock court on January 25, 2021.
