Elbridge, NY – On July 15, 2020, at approximately 11:40 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Elbridge, after nearly striking a State Trooper while he was on a traffic stop.  The Trooper was outside his patrol vehicle within a work zone when a 2010 Audi failed to move over.  The Trooper initiated a traffic stop on the Audi and determined that the driver, Nicholas S. Allwell, 30, of South Boston, MA, was found to be intoxicated.


Allwell was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Syracuse, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.30%.  He was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor. 


Allwell was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Elbridge Court on August 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
