Verona, NY – On October 24, 2020, at approximately 1:45 a.m., State Police stopped a car on I-90 in the town of Verona for a vehicle and traffic violation.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and the occupants was established.  The driver, Jahn Rentas, 23, of Worcester, MA, was found to be in possession of approximately 4.5 pounds of cocaine, which was discovered inside two cereal boxes. 

 

Rentas was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Oneida where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree; a Class A Felony.

 

Rentas was remanded to the Oneida County Jail to await arraignment.
