On October 2, 2021 State Police in Cobleskill arrested 46-year-old Andrew VanZandt of Marlborough, MA, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (C felony), Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree (A misdemeanor) and Divining while Ability Impaired by Drugs (A misdemeanor) following a traffic stop.

 

State Police stopped VanZandt for a traffic infraction as he traveled on I-88 in the town of Schoharie Saturday afternoon.  During the traffic stop, the Trooper discovered that VanZandt was impaired and in possession of LSD and Ketamine.  VanZandt provided a false identity to Troopers along with the Michigan Driver’s license of the individual he was attempting to impersonate.  

 

VanZandt was taken into custody without incident and later arraigned in Schoharie town court.  He is due back in court on November 22, 2021 for further court proceedings.
