On August 11, 2020, at approximately 11:35 a.m. State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu for impeding traffic on State Highway 11 in the town of Potsdam. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone with cars behind it. The vehicle sped up to approximately 70 MPH and passed a car in a no passing zone. Then, the vehicle slowed and pulled over. The operator, identified as Kody G. Larock, 24, of Massena, was subsequently arrested for operating while impaired by drugs. Following an investigation, Larock was found in possession of more than 10 pounds of marijuana. He was charged with DWAI-Drugs and Criminal Possession of Marihuana 1st degree.

Larock was arraigned by the Town of Canton Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with no bail due to a parole warrant. He is scheduled to reappear in the Potsdam Town Court at a later date.

State Police were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Potsdam Police Department and U.S. Border Patrol.
