On April 13, 2020, State Police in Cobleskill arrested 20-year-old Cody C. Ganson of Middleburgh, for Criminal Mischief 4th degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (A misdemeanor), Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), two counts of Assault 3rd degree (A misdemeanor), two counts of Menacing 3rd degree (B misdemeanor), and Disorderly Conduct (violation).

At approximately 4:00 a.m. on April 6th 2020, State Police responded to a residence in Middleburgh for a disturbance. When Troopers arrived on scene, bystanders pointed out Ganson, who appeared intoxicated and was acting erratically. Ganson yelled obscenities at patrols and refused to comply with commands. EMS was dispatched to the scene and transported Ganson to Ellis Hospital to treat a hand injury he sustained while punching a vehicle prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

Investigation determined that Ganson had gotten into an altercation with a female associate that had been that the residence. Ganson is accused of punching the victim multiple times in the face. When a second female attempted to intercede, Ganson grabbed her around the throat impeding her ability to breath. The women were able to get into a vehicle and left the residence. Ganson is also accused of kicking the vehicle as they were attempting to leave, causing damage.

State Police took Ganson into custody at his residence on April 13th. He was processed at SP Cobleskill and released on an appearance ticket. He is due in Middleburgh Town Court on June 10, 2020 at 5:30 p.m.
