On April 22, 2021, the New York State Police in Chestertown arrested 43-year-old Roger Duprey of Mooers, NY, for Tampering with Physical Evidence (E felony), three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (A misdemeanor), and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree (A misdemeanor).

Troopers stopped Duprey for a series of traffic infractions as he traveled on I-87 in the town of Chestertown late Thursday morning. While speaking with Duprey, the Trooper observed signs of drug possession and a search of the vehicle was conducted.

As the Trooper was searching the vehicle, Duprey quickly reentered the car and removed a sunglass case containing a quantity of suboxone. When the Trooper attempted to stop him, Duprey fled the scene on foot. He was located a short time later and taken into custody.

Further search of Duprey’s vehicle revealed that he was in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and buprenorphine, a well as drug paraphernalia containing suspect cocaine residue.

Duprey showed signs of impairment while at the scene and was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert.

Duprey was processed at SP Chestertown and arraigned in Warren County Centralized Arraignment Part. He was released on his own recognizance and is due in Chester Town Court on a later date.
