On May 30, 2021, at 6:08 p.m., State Police responded to a motorcycle crash that occurred on County Route 22 in the town of Antwerp, Jefferson County.

The investigation has determined a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Joseph W. Barlow, age 24 from Potsdam, NY, was traveling eastbound on County Route 22 at an unsafe speed when he exited the roadway and struck a post and fence. Barlow was ejected from the bike and then struck a piece of stationary farm equipment.

Barlow was airlifted by LifeNet to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and was listed in critical condition.

The investigation is continuing.
