Multiple accidents lead to DWI charge for Portville woman

On August 11, 2019, SP Amity Troopers arrested Diana M. Taggerty, 47, of Portville, NY for Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit a Breath Test, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and numerous traffic infractions.

During their investigation of a one-car accident on County Road 18 in the town of Bolivar, Taggerty, the driver, was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. Troopers determined she had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Troopers further discovered she had been involved in two other property damage accidents. She failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Taggerty was arrested and transported to SP Amity, where she refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Taggerty was arraigned in Bolivar Town Court, where she was remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $250 bail or $500 bond. She is due to reappear in that court in September.
