On May 29, 2022, State Police arrested Lynbrook Man for criminal possession of a firearm.
On May 29, at about 11:09 p.m., a State Trooper was patrolling the Southern State Parkway in the town of Hempstead, when he came upon Mark Campbell, 31 of Lynbrook, NY, parked and asleep in his vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway. While talking with Mr. Campbell, the Trooper observed possible signs of intoxication, and administered standardized field sobriety tests, which Mr. Campbell failed.
The Trooper also found Mr. Campbell to be in possession of a loaded .22 caliber handgun, which Mr. Campbell did not have a permit for. Mr. Campbell was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree (C-Felony), DWI (Misd), and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd degree (Misd). Mr. Campbell was held overnight and was arraigned at Nassau County 1st District on May 30.
