Plattekill, NY – On February 5, 2021, at approximately 11:10 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Plattekill, for a vehicle and traffic violation.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle was established.  During the vehicle search, Trooper’s discovered a loaded Taurus Millennium 9mm handgun containing one live round in the chamber. 

 

The driver, Bryant L. King, 27, of Plainfield, NJ, was also found to be in possession of approximately 29.5 grams of Oxycodone and 67.3 grams of MDMA.  King was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree; a Class A Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree with Intent to Sell; a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (loaded firearm); both Class C Felonies.

 

King was arraigned before the Town of Plattekill Court and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
