Yonkers, NY – On December 12, 2022, at approximately 9:43 p.m., State Police were advised to BOLO (be on the lookout) for a vehicle involved in an armed robbery of a mini mart in Clarkstown, NY.  Troopers observed the suspect vehicle, a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, traveling southbound on the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The driver failed to comply, and a pursuit ensued.  The vehicle exited the Thruway onto the Sprain Brook Parkway where Troopers then conducted a moving roadblock to successfully stop the vehicle.  The driver, Shahzad A. Khan, 41, of Carteret, NJ, was taken into custody and transported to SP Tarrytown.  Further investigation revealed Khan was driving with a suspended license and both plates on the vehicle were reported stolen out of NYPD. 

Khan was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree; a Class E Felony, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Endangerment of Property, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree, and Reckless Driving; all Misdemeanors.

Khan was issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Yonkers Court on January 6, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. and turned over to the Town of Clarkstown Police Department for an armed robbery of the mini mart that occurred in their jurisdiction.
