New Paltz, NY – On February 1, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., State Police discovered a disabled vehicle that had run out of gas on I-87, in the town of New Paltz.  While interviewing the driver, Eric J. Ramos, 45, of New York, NY, Troopers determined he was intoxicated and had a suspended license while traveling with two 13-year-old children in the car.  The children were given a ride to the station and turned over to a family member. 

Ramos was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Kingston where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18%.   He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; both Misdemeanors and two counts of Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony.

Ramos was released to a sober third party and issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Esopus Court on March 1, 2022.
