State Police arrested Zachary Wojcik, age 31, from New York Mills, NY, for Burglary 1st degree, a class “B” felony, and Assault 3rd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.

On April 8, 2021, at 8:04 pm, The New York Mills Police Department responded to a reported home invasion at a residence on Maple Street in the village of New York Mills.

A male subject, later identified as Zachary Wojcik, broke into the residence and proceeded to physically assault the 67-year-old homeowner causing facial injuries and a severe laceration to his leg.  Wojcik also assaulted another resident at 411 Main Street in the village of New York Mills who was in his backyard barbecuing.  Wojcik was taken into custody by the New York Mills Police Department, and the case was subsequently turned over to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Marcy. 

The 67-year-old victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s hospital and subsequently transferred to Upstate for further treatment.  Wojcik was processed and transported to the Oneida County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
