Coeymans, NY – On May 31, 2021, at approximately 4:00 p.m., State Police stopped a car on I-87 in the town of Coeymans for a vehicle and traffic violation. While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and the occupants was established. The driver, Jason T. Salters, 35, of New York, NY, was found to be in possession of over 56 grams of cocaine, over 13 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, over 3 grams of crack cocaine, and a quantity of oxycodone and Xanax pills. Further investigation also determined Salters was in possession of two fraudulent one hundred- dollar bills.
Salters was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Albany without incident. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree with Intent to Sell; both Class B Felonies and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree and Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree; both Class C Felonies.
Salters was arraigned before the Town of Coeymans Court and remanded to Albany County Jail with a court date to be determined at a later time.
