PRESS RELEASE
 

Newburgh, NY – On July 24, 2022, at approximately 9:20 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle, Rafael Henriquez, 24, of New York, NY, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 14-year-old and 4-year-old child in the vehicle.  Henriquez was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh.   The children were turned over to a responsible party.   

Henriquez’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.11% and was subsequently charged with two counts of Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony and Vehicle and Traffic Violations.  He was turned over to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Newburgh Court on August 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.
