New York State Police respond to fatal car pedestrian accident in the Town of Colesville

On February 17, 2023, at approximately 6:04 P.M., the New York State Police in Binghamton responded to a reported fatal car versus pedestrian accident on State Route 7 in the area of Belden Manor Road in the Town of Colesville.

The investigation revealed that a Ram pickup truck was being operated westbound on State Route 7 when the driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian, Angela N. Kelley, age 47 of Binghamton, N.Y.  The investigation further revealed that Kelley was walking in the westbound lane while dressed in dark clothing and the operator of the Ram pickup was unable to avoid Kelley in the roadway.  

Troopers were assisted by State Police Investigators, the Troop C Collision Reconstruction Unit, EMS personnel and the Broome County Coroner.

The New York State Police reminds pedestrians to remain vigilant and exercise caution while walking near roadways.
