Cornwall, NY – On August 23, 2021, at approximately 5:50 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Cornwall for a vehicle and traffic violation. The driver, Hosmar J. Garcia Giron, 23, of Newburgh, NY, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .18%.
Additionally, Giron has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and as a result, he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; both Class E Felonies.
Giron was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Cornwall Court on September 8, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
