Victor, NY – On August 30, 2020, at approximately 12:42 a.m., State Police received a report of an erratic vehicle traveling eastbound on I-90 in the town of Victor.  Troopers observed the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver after observing several violations.  The operator failed to comply, and a pursuit ensued.  After several miles, the vehicle drove over a tire deflation device (also known as spike strips), that was utilized by State Police to end the chase. 


The driver of the vehicle, Gregory B. Betterson Jr., 34, of Charlotte, NC, was determined to be intoxicated.  He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Henrietta where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .21%.   


Betterson was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor.  He was released to a sober third party and issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Victor Court on November 19, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
