 On July 16, 2021, at 8:29 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe on Cascade Road in the village of Lake Placid. The operator, 47-year-old Phillip Perry of North Elba, was found to be operating while under the influence of alcohol, and in violation of restrictions for an interlock device. He also had a revoked NY license. Perry’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.26%. He was charged with Felony DWI, due to previous convictions in the preceding ten years, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree. Perry was released with tickets for the Village of Lake Placid Court.
