Nurse arrested for rape at correctional facility

Bedford, New York – On March 1, 2023, the New York State Police in conjunction with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYS DOCCS), and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office arrested Michael Adeleke, age 54, of Waterbury, CT, for Rape in the 3rd degree, a class E felony.

In September of 2022, NYS DOCCS officials at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility reported a sexual assault to the State Police.  The investigation determined Michael Adeleke, employed as a nurse at the facility, allegedly raped an incarcerated individual at the facility.

Adeleke was arraigned in the town of Bedford court and released on his own recognizance to reappear before the court on March 15, 2023, at 3:30 p.m.
