New York State Police at Homer have arrested three people for their involvement in a fraudulent checking cashing scheme. 

In January, Investigators learned that fake checks that appeared to be payroll checks from Cortland Country Club in the town of Cortlandville were being cashed around Cortland and Tompkins Counties. The total cashed amounted to over $4,300. 

On March 4, 2021 an 18-year-old of Cortland, NY was arrested and charged with the felony of Possession of a Forged Instrument.  He was arraigned virtually and released on his own recognizance and a court date was set in late March in the City of Cortland Court.

On March 16, 2021 Lisa A. Pagliaro, age 52 of Dryden was charged with the felony of Possession of a Forged Instrument.  Pagliaro was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.  A court date was set in the Town of Lansing Court in April. 

On April 20, 2021 New York State Police at Homer arrested Jamie L. Gonzalez, age 40 for two counts of the felony Possession of a Forged Instrument.  Gonzalez was arraigned virtually and remanded to the Cortland County Jail.  Her next court date is scheduled in the Town of Cortlandville Court in July.
