On March 14, 2020, State Police arrested 42-year-old Michael Montalvo of Ogdensburg after an incident in which he violated a ‘stay-away’ order of protection issued by the Town of Oswegatchie Court. Montalvo was driving his vehicle and intentionally drove straight at another vehicle, forcing it off the roadway on March 8, 2020, on State Highway 37 in the town of Oswegatchie. The vehicle was occupied by two adult individuals who are the protected parties on an order of protection, as well as two children.

Montalvo was charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt 1st degree, four counts of Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned in the Town of Oswegatchie Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, or $20,000 bond.
