Olean man arrested for felony DWI after Franklinville pursuit

On August 31, 2020, SP Machias Troopers arrested Richard A. Tucker, 58, of Olean, NY for Driving While Intoxicated – Previous Conviction Within Ten Years, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, and Use of a Vehicle Without an Interlock Device.

After fleeing from an attempted traffic stop on State Route 16 in the town of Franklinville, Tucker eventually stopped his vehicle on State Route 16, also in the town of Franklinville. Tucker was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. He failed portions of the standardized field sobriety tests at the scene and refused to complete others. He was then arrested and transported to SP Machias, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Tucker was released with appearance tickets for Franklinville Town Court, where he is due to appear later this month.
