PRESS RELEASE
 

On November 3, 2020 at approximately 11:32 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Timothy L. Young, age 49 of Oneonta, NY for the felony of Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the second degree and the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Reckless Driving. 

Troopers observed Young exit the parking garage ramp on Market Street in the city of Oneonta and make several vehicle and traffic violations.  Troopers initially made a vehicle and traffic stop in the Clinton Plaza where Young stopped but then drove off toward Chestnut Street and into a parking garage where he drove recklessly around the top level.  Troopers were assisted by the City of Oneonta Police Department and Young was taken into custody. 

An investigation at the scene revealed that Young was in possession of approximately five (5) pounds of suspected marihuana.  The troopers also observed that he appeared to be impaired.  Young was transported to SP Oneonta where his reportable B.A.C was .14%.  Young was processed and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail.
