On May 20, 2020, at approximately 10:46 a.m., State Police responded to a report of an order of protection violation in Hammond. An investigation revealed that 40-year-old Gregory A. Brabant of Ogdensburg called the victim on her cell phone and messaged her via social media app, violating an active stay-away order of protection issued by the Town of Morristown Court.

Brabant eas arrested and charged with Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree, A misdemeanor, and Criminal Contempt 1st degree, E felony. He was arraigned by the Canton Town Court and released to reappear in the Hammond Town Court at a later date.
