Austerlitz, New York – On February 16, 2021, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Danyell D. Johnson Jr., age 27, and Latoya M. Moore, age 33, both of Indianapolis, IN, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession Weapon (high capacity ammunition feeding device) in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, both class D felonies, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, a class E felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, both class A misdemeanors.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2020 Dodge Charger for a violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Austerlitz. Investigation revealed Johnson and Moore were in possession of approximately 15.5 grams of 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 4.14 grams of methadone, and a loaded Sig Sauer 9MM handgun reported stolen out of Greenwood, Indiana. Johnson was additionally charged with Criminal Contempt for violating a court order barring him from possessing any firearm and Moore was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree for possession of the methadone.
Both subjects were arraigned before the town of Austerlitz Court. Johnson was remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail and Moore was remanded in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
