Schenectady, NY – On October 28, 2019 at approximately 11:00 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the city of Schenectady for a vehicle and traffic violation.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and the occupants was established.  Both the driver, Anthony M. Garcia, 20, of Schenectady and passenger, Gary J. Haggray Jr., 20, of Schenectady, NY, were taken into custody after Troopers discovered a loaded Taurus International 9mm handgun in the vehicle.  It was loaded with a 13 round capacity magazine.  Further investigation revealed the magazine was loaded with 10 rounds along with one round in the chamber.    
 
Garcia and Haggray were transported and processed at SP Albany where they were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (Loaded Firearm other than in a person’s home/business); a Class C Felony, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device; a Class A Misdemeanor and a Multiple Violations.
 
The pair were arraigned before the City of Schenectady Court and remanded to Albany County Jail without bail.  Both are to re-appear before the City of Schenectady Court on October 31, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.
