Pennsylvania man arrested for aggravated DWI at nearly triple the limit, weapons charge after Allegany accident

On May 11, 2021, SP Olean Troopers arrested Chad M. Hanzely, 40, of Reynoldsville, PA for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – BAC Over 0.18% and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

Troopers investigating a one-vehicle accident on the off-ramp of Interstate 86 in the town of Allegany observed Hanzely exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication and determined he had been operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. He was also discovered to have an illegally possessed pistol. Hanzely was then arrested and transported to SP Olean, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.23% BAC.

Hanzely was issued appearance tickets for Allegany Town Court, where he is due to appear in June.
