Pennsylvania resident arrested for possession of fraudulent vehicle license plates

Queens, New York - On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 1, 2023, troopers from SP Rockaways arrested Hengchuan Zhang, age 23, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 3^rd Degree - a class A misdemeanor.

The troopers were patrolling near the Cross Bay Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on a 2013 Mercedes Benz, operated by Zhang, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The investigation revealed Zhang to be in possession of two fraudulent temporary vehicle license plates and two fraudulent vehicle registration cards.

Zhang was arrested and issued a desk appearance for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 3rd Degree returnable to Queens County Criminal Court on March 21, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
