On September 20, 2020, at approximately 5:43 p.m., State Police responded to State Route 190 (Military Turnpike) in the town of Beekmantown for a report of a car crash. An investigation revealed that a Ford Taurus operated by 43-year-old Shawn O. Bryson of Plattsburgh, was traveling west on Jersey Swamp Road, approaching the intersection of State Route 190, when his vehicle struck the rear of a truck towing a trailer, operated by 41-year-old Jeremy P. Corrow of Beekmantown, that was stopped at the intersection.  Bryson and Corrow were not injured.

Bryson was subsequently arrested for DWI. His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.13%. Bryson was charged with DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st and 2nd degree. He was released with appearance tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Beekmantown Court.
