On February 21, 2021, State Police arrested 44-year-old Michael J. Lewis of Plattsburgh, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Meadow Lark Drive and Rugar Park Way in the town of Plattsburgh, at approximately 9:39 p.m. Lewis was found asleep in the vehicle at the location. He was subsequently arrested for DWI. Lewis was also found in possession of a switch blade knife and buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual films without a prescription. Lewis refused to submit to a test to determine the alcohol content of his blood. He was charged with DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (due to a previous conviction), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. Lewis was arraigned before the Town of Peru Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail without bail. He is to reappear in the Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date.
