On June 2, 2020, State Police arrested 49-year-old George Cassevah Jr., of Plattsburgh after he made a racially motivated threat of violence toward another individual.

Cassevah subjected the victim to racial slurs and threatened to strike him with his vehicle. Cassevah was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, as a Hate Crime, E felony, and Menacing 3rd degree, as a Hate Crime, A misdemeanor. He was arraigned by the Plattsburgh Town Court and released to reappear at a later date.
