PRESS RELEASE
On January 6, 2021, at approximately 5:31 p.m., State Police responded to a residence on Pear Street in the town of Plattsburgh for a report of a domestic dispute. An investigation at the scene revealed that 26-year-old Sarah J. Abel of Plattsburgh menaced the victim with a baseball bat and a knife. She also used the knife to slice a mattress, causing damage estimated at approximately $1700.
Abel was arrested and charged with two counts of Menacing 2nd degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, and one count of Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. She was virtually arraigned by the City of Plattsburgh Court and released based upon the pre-trial program. She is set to reappear in the Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date.
