On October 16, 2019, State Police arrested Morisa A. Cruz, 32, of Plattsburgh, after an investigation revealed that she stole a debit card from another person and used it to make several purchases between May and June 2019, totaling over $2,500.

Cruz used the bank card to purchase synthetic marijuana online and she then provided this drug to a child under 17 years of age. She was charged with one count of Grand Larceny 4th degree (E felony), one count of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child (A misdemeanor), and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor).  She was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court and released under a pre-trial release program.
