On October 10, 2021, State Police arrested 57-year-old Robert H. Lanpher of Barre, Vermont, following a pursuit that began at approximately 9:19 p.m. on State Route 374 in town of Plattsburgh. A traffic stop was initiated for speeding. Lanpher initially stopped and then sped off when the trooper approached his car. Lanpher traveled west on State Route 374 through the towns of Plattsburgh, Saranac, and Dannemora, His vehicle eventually stopped when he ran out of gas in front of the Owly Out Bar and Restaurant in the town of Dannemora. Lanpher was taken into custody. He was also found to be Driving While Intoxicated and in possession of a quantity of cocaine. Lanpher’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.14%. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, DWI, as well as several other vehicle and traffic law violations. He was released with tickets to appear in the Town of Dannemora Court, Town of Plattsburgh Court, Town of Saranac Court, and the Village of Dannemora Court on various dates and times.
