On September 16, 2021, at around 11:10 a.m., State Police attempted to make a traffic stop on State Route 22 in Ticonderoga. The vehicle failed to stop and continued westbound onto State Route 74. The suspect vehicle struck a State Police patrol car and attempted to force patrol cars off the road. The pursuit ended in the town of Schroon and the operator, 41-year-old Faber S. Kelly of Port Henry, was taken into custody. Kelly was charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree. He was arraigned in the Moriah Town Court and released pending a future court appearance. The pursuit traveled 17 miles with top speed of approximately 98 mph.

State Police were assisted by the Ticonderoga Police Department.
