PRESS RELEASE

On January 24, 2020, at approximately 7:46 p.m., State Police initiated a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger on Webster Street in the town of Malone for an inadequate driver’s side headlight. The vehicle failed to comply, speeding off south on Webster Street. Eventually the vehicle traveled through a red light at the intersection of State Route 30 and Franklin Street without stopping and then continued west onto State Route 11B. The vehicle then turned north onto County Route 53 where State Police ended the pursuit.

Troopers soon located the vehicle disabled on Donovan Road in the town of Fort Covington. The three teenage occupants were detained, uninjured.  The operator, a 16-year-old from Brasher, was charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, and released with a Family Court appearance ticket.
