On May 27, 2020, State Police in Greenwich arrested 48-year-old Christopher R. Luce of Hudson Falls for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree (E felony), Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor). State Police also charged 30-year-old Geoffrey M. Pickering of Queensbury, with Bribery 3rd degree (D felony) and Criminal Contempt 1st degree (E felony).

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday night, State Police responded to a residence in the town of Greenwich after a protected party called police to report that Pickering was at their house, in violation of a full stay away order of protection. While patrolling to the location of the complaint, Troopers observed Pickering in vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was stopped and Pickering, who was a passenger, was taken into custody. As Pickering was being place in police custody he made multiple statements offering the Trooper money not to arrested him.

The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Luce, was interviewed by police and exhibited signs of intoxication, he was also found to be in possession of a quantity of LSD and was operating on a suspended license.

Both men were transported to SP Greenwich where they were processed. Luce provided a breath sample of .22% B.A.C. and was released with an appearance ticket for Cambridge Town Court on June 9, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Pickering was transported to Washington County Jail to await arraignment.
