On May 27, 2020, State Police arrested 41-year-old Raymond L. Vernum of Queensbury, for Assault 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree, both A misdemeanors.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, State Police responded to Luzerne Road for a report of an assault. Vernum is accused of striking the victim and attempting to take their cellphone when he realized they were calling police. During the struggle, the victim was thrown to the ground and struck their head on the payment. Vernum and the victim were known to one another.

Vernum fled the scene prior to the arrival of police and was later located at a Queenbury residence, where he was taken into custody.

Vernum was processed at SP Queensbury and arraigned in Queensbury Town Court. He is due back on June 10, 2020.
