On September 26, 2019, State Police in Schodack arrested 48-year-old, Robert G. Giacomino of Rensselaer, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Troopers received a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Miller Road in Castleton. While checking the area, a patrol located the vehicle in a parking lot.
Upon approaching the car, the Trooper observed Robert G. Giacomino sitting in the driver’s seat with the keys still in the ignition. Giacomino exhibited multiple signs of impairment and was asked to exit the car. He was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, and was placed in custody for driving under the influence of drugs.
A search of his vehicle revealed that he was also in possession of four glassine baggies containing a powdery substance believed to contain fentanyl.
Giacomino was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Schodack Town Court on October 2, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.
