PRESS RELEASE
 

On August 13, 2020 at approximately 1:32 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Thomas A. Niznik, age 45 of Richfield Springs, NY for two counts each of the misdemeanors of Menacing in the second degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

A trooper received a complaint that two teens were threatened by a male while they were on James Street in the village of Richfield Springs.  The teen victims said that they stopped after one of their bikes had the chain break; they said that’s when they Niznik approached them and threatened them with a knife.  The teens immediately went home and told an adult about the encounter.  The adult was able to identify the suspect as Niznik and called 911. 

The trooper located Niznik and he was arrested, then processed.  Niznik was issued appearance tickets to the village of Richfield Springs court for August 25, 2020 and released.
