Tonawanda, NY – On July 16, 2021 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Troopers responded to a report of two individuals fighting on the shoulder of I-190 in the town of Tonawanda.  A preliminary investigation determined that Paul J. Britzzalaro, 56, of Tonawanda, NY, was traveling northbound near exit 16, when he was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of another vehicle.  After several miles, both vehicles pulled over on the shoulder of the road, where a physical altercation took place. 

Britzzalaro reportedly put the other driver into a choke hold before leaving the scene and continuing on I-190.  Troopers were able to contact Britzzalaro who voluntarily responded to SP Buffalo.  He was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation; a Class A Misdemeanor and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Tonawanda Court on July 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
