On May 17, 2022, Troopers arrested Victor G. Freeman 43 of Grand Island, NY for Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree.  On May 18, 2022, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Freeman with additional charges after a search of his residence for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, assault rifles (2 counts), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, high-capacity magazine (9 counts) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, degree, defaced weapon. All charges are D Felony.

On May 17, 2022, at 8:00 A.M., Troopers responded to a road rage incident that occurred on the I-190 in the town of Grand Island.  Further investigation revealed that during the road rage incident, Freeman displayed a firearm to the other operator. The loaded polymer pistol without serial numbers, “ghost gun” was located.  The NSYP Bureau of Criminal Investigation applied and received a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO) and located additional assault rifles, shotgun, ghost gun kits and high-capacity ammunition magazines at his residence.

Freeman was arrested and arraigned at the town of Grand Island Court and has been remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on $25,000 bail.
